I’ve got a tip for your next embarrassing moment—and yes, you will have one.
Mine happened recently in a Knoxville restaurant. Before leaving, my niece and I decided to run to the restroom. I sat down, looked under the stall, and saw a pair of gorgeous boots. She had mentioned buying new ones, so naturally, I reached over, grabbed the boots, gave them a little shake, and said, “Love your boots!”
That’s when I heard a voice two stalls down say,
“I love them too, Aunt Jenny.”
I froze. Totally. Didn’t say a word. I just sat there in disbelief, hand mid-air, holding the foot of a complete stranger.
Here’s what I learned:
When you find yourself in an embarrassing situation, don’t stay stuck in the stall.
Own it, laugh about it, and move on.
Because every awkward moment becomes a great story later—and the faster you can own it, the faster you can let it go.
